Brickworx were delighted to be appointed the bricklaying subcontract on this £55.2m hotel project, comprising of 465 total beds over 18 floors with a retained grade A façade dating back to the 1840’s. The project incorporates more modern features on elevations in other parts of the building – cladding, large glazed panels (to take advantage of the views and bring the city centre building into the 21st century), and of course…brickwork.
All the usual suspects in relation to bricklaying materials and associated sundries were involved here as well as fair faced blockwork walls internally on lower levels and the vast majority of brickwork elevations built off mast climbers by our highly trained and experienced team.
The architect’s contrasting choice of brick side by side appeals well to the eye and has achieved the desired non uniform look he/ she was going for exceptionally well.
